Mithali Dorai Raj (born 3 December 1982) is an Indian cricketer, who plays as a right-handed batter. She played for India between 1999 and 2022, and captained the side between 2004 and 2022. Mithali is the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket and is considered as one of the greatest cricketers of all time.
Mithali holds numerous records in international cricket. She is the only female cricketer to surpass the 7,000 run mark in Women’s One Day International matches. She is the first player to score seven consecutive 50s in ODIs. She also holds the record for most half-centuries in WODIs.
Mithali is the 1st Indian and 5th woman cricketer overall to score over 1,000 World Cup runs. She holds the record for playing the most consecutive Women’s One Day Internationals for a team (109).
Mithali retired as the leading run-scorer in the women’s ODIs. She represented India in 232 matches, scoring 7805 runs at an average of 50.68. In Tests, Mithali smashed 699 runs in 12 matches with a brilliant average of 43.68. She also scored 2,364 runs in 89 T20Is.
